Hello Friends,
Summer is finally over and we have some new drink promotions for September 2016: Johnnie Walker Green Label and Kirin's most famous seasonal brew Aki Aji (Taste of Fall). JW Green Label - Tasting Notes from 'Master of Malt' The nose is quite rich and full. There are notes of mocchaccino and espresso coffee, wood smoke and a fireplace, a touch of bitter chocolate and oak. The palate is of medium-body with notes of crisp cereals, coffee beans and chocolate, a date note with a touch of walnut. The finish is quite long and spicy with honeyed sweetness and oak. Monthly Guest Beer on Tap Blue Moon Belgian White from the USA See you soon, Man in the Moon Attention Beer Lovers,
Kirin has just released a new local beer available only in Kyoto: Kyoto Zukuri (京都づくり). This special version of their famous premium Ichiban Shibori Lager is made using hops grown in Kyoto. The flavor was designed to be sophisticated like the city it represents. From our tasting we can say that it's a delicious Japanese lager which definitely stands out from Kirin's standard brew. We're offering this new local Kyoto beer at a special promotion price: 700円 per bottle! Come try it today to experience the freshest possible flavor. Hello Beer Lovers, The 2016 Kyoto Craft Beer Festival was an event to remember! Local breweries poured glass after glass of their precious brew for a thirsty crowd of craft beer lovers in Kyoto. The festival was packed to capacity right from the start and didn't slow down until the kegs were empty and the music was over. Even Mother Nature cooperated by bringing sunny blue skies. What a day! The staff of Kyoto's own Man in the Moon Irish Pub and Pig & Whistle British Pub spent the day searching for the best beers in show. It was no easy task but we endured. We take our jobs very seriously -- total professionals. ;) We definitely want more Japanese craft beer behind the bar counters in Kyoto and beyond. The festival featured beers from over 35 breweries in Kyoto, Kansai, and all over Japan. The Kyoto breweries included Kyoto Brewing, Kizakura Brewery, Kyoto Machiya Beer, and Kyoto Ichijoji Brewery. There was over 100 different beers on tap to try. Despite our best efforts we failed to taste test everything. It was a delicious and intoxicating defeat. We're already looking forward to next year's festival. This event keeps getting better and better. A big thank you to all of the people who worked so hard to make Saturday such a huge success! NO BEER, NO LIFE. Cheers, Man in the Moon Beer festival homepage: http://www.kyoto-beer.com/ 2016 Kyoto Craft Beer Festival Pics! |
